The Government of Georgia has identified solid waste collection and disposal, as well as reform of the existing waste management system as a key priority for the country. The project will be implemented by the State-owned Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia (the Purchaser). Subject to approval, the project may be co-financed from a grant from an international or a bilateral donor. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 15 million equivalent will require the procurement of the following goods: - Waste collection vehicle such as rear-loaded compactor vehicles - Waste collection containers - Assorted waste management equipment Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in Q1 2016. Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan and a grant will be subject to the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the loan and the grant will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
