Diamond Light Source makes extensive use of x86-based systems as components of a computing facility for the processing of experimental data. CPU servers and disk storage components are interconnected using Ethernet switches and integrated with other computing equipment. The computer clients are virtually all Windows or Linux. This tender is to provide network attached file-systems for unstructured file data for predominantly small files (< 0.1MB), and the functionality to manage the data and provide resiliency and data recovery.
