Tenders are invited for the supply of gas heating spare parts and associated materials on behalf of the West Lothian Council Gas Section. Tender submissions will include any manufacturers' discount for any non-contract items. Scope: West Lothian Council’s Gas Section are responsible for the repairs and annual maintenance programme of 12 437 properties that currently have gas appliances installed, along with 23 properties in The Forth Valley Area that have oil fired central heating systems. The gas section of the council endeavours to respond to gas repairs within a set time scale dependent on the type of repair, this will either be 24 hours or 48 hours. We have also undertaken, and will continue, a capital programme of heating installations. This identifies and removes old inefficient/obsolete installations, or appliances that are problematic and expensive both to the customer and ourselves to continually repair, and replaces these with new high efficiency appliances. Providing a better service for our customers is, as always, a vital objective, and we will be working vigilantly to ensure that we are running in the most cost effective manner possible. The tender is open to any supplier with appropriate expertise and capability to provide the standard of service required by the authority.
