STC1096-Authorising Engineer (AE) Services Contract.

The Parliamentary Estates Directorate (PED) currently uses the Safe System of Work developed by the Ministry of Defence (JSP 375 Volume 3, Chapters 3 and 4) to manage their steam, pressurised systems, High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems with more than one supply. The Authorising Engineer is a specialist role, described in detail within JSP 375, which oversees these management systems and includes the delivery of site specific staff training, audits and competency assessments. In order to continue to comply with these, as well as the petroleum, oil and lubricant (POL) systems, a contract is required for provision of Authorising Engineer and Authorised Person services, training and auditing by a competent specialist contractor. This contract will permit the Parliamentary Estate to continue to comply with JSP375 and all legislator requirements, and to further develop our in house expertise. PED may also require specialist advice as to whether JSP 375 is the most appropriate system for the Estate. The Contract will initially run for a period of 2 years but there will be an option to extend this in 2 x 1 years periods making a maximum possible duration of 4 years.
