The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is planning to procure a full range of dosimetry equipment which is required to support a new service from Spring 2018, providing Proton Beam Therapy Treatment to patients with 3 treatment rooms (for a proton scanning service only). The Trust treats about 40 000 patients a year from across the North West of England, and is the largest cancer centre in the UK. It is envisaged that the trust will treat approximately 750 patients a year using PBT once the service is fully commissioned. Interested parties are invited to request an informal discussion with the Trust, which will be held in Manchester on Thursday 13.2.2014, in order for the Trust to understand the capabilities in the market. The Trust is specifically interested in exploring: — The technical capability aspects of a comprehensive Dosimetry solution for a Proton Scanning service and relevant CE mark status. — A complete range of Dosimetry measuring equipment. — Additional commissioning and QA equipment and aids. — A solution for patient specific QC for the verification of Proton treatments. — Additional IT requirements to support relevant dosimetry equipment. — Potential costs associated with possible solutions, including number of units required.
