The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) comprises nearly 50 members of staff working in alumni relations and fundraising. Our projects span the breadth of UCLs areas of strength and expertise, with a new focus on health fundraising. Our current database has just over 250 000 records covering alumni, donors and other friends and supporters. It is the main record of alumni and donations for the whole of UCL. We have 57 users mostly based in the DARO office, with a few users elsewhere across campus. All users access the database on their office PCs, most can also access it from home via VPN. A number of our users have iPads and iPhones and we would like more flexible mobile access to the data for those who frequently work outside the office. DARO is in the planning and preparatory stages of launching a major new fundraising campaign for UCL which we are intending to launch publically in autumn 2015. The upgrade or replacement of our current database is a key part of our campaign set up and we want the System to be fully functioning well before we get to the public launch.
