Provision of a Real Time Passenger Information System

In February 2012,North East Lincolnshire Council submitted a bid to the Department for Transport for Local Sustainable Transport Funds for a package of walking, cycling and public transport measures. The bid was successful and the aim is to deliver the proposed schemes and initiatives by March 2015. Following the success of this bid the Council are looking to procure a Real Time Passenger Information system in partnership with all bus operators, using a mixture of on-street and web based information provision to cover all journeys in and around North East Lincolnshire funded through LSTF. This will allow people, jobs and services to be better connected making bus journeys more attractive and encouraging modal shift from the private car to buses which in turn will increase patronage, helping alleviate the congestion problems experienced in North East Lincolnshire. The project will focus initially on the installation of electronic display signs at key bus stops along all the inter-urban corridors and Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) screens at all of the key origins and destinations. The display signs will show the scheduled departure times for the next three consecutive buses arriving at the stop concerned until the system is refreshed to provide Real Time. It is envisaged that North Lincolnshire Council will also be able to access this agreement once awarded. Prior to entering into the tendering stage, North East Lincolnshire officers would like to invite interested parties to give a presentation on 11th and 12.2.2013 on current ETM solutions in the RTPI market. Economic operators interested in presenting solutions must contact jonathan.ford@nelincs.gov.uk following which a time slot of one hour will be offered, this activity is conducted outside of any OJEU process and is not deemed to be chargeable. Presentations will be held at: Seminar Room 2, Humber Seafood Institute, Origin Way, Europarc, North East Lincolnshire, DN37 9TU. Time slots will be offered on the following basis: 9:00am to 10:00am 10:30am to 11:30am 12:00pm to 13:00pm 14:00pm to 15:00pm 15:30pm to 16:30pm 17:00pm to 18:00pm Economic Operators attending will be offered projector use, but must provide their own internet facility.
