This is a Request for Information (RFI) for a software solution to support the billing process which will allow customers/members to view services available to purchase and then pay for them. This is an information gathering exercise by Jisc. The information obtained from this RFI will be used by Jisc to determine if it is able to procure a new software solution to support the billing process and what route to market will be appropriate. Any information submitted at this RFI stage will be non-binding but may be used to inform any future procurement of these resources. We require a new software solution to support the billing process which will allow customers/members to view services available to purchase and then pay for them. A variety of payment options need to be available to customers/members, such as paying up front or by using pre-agreed credit terms. The system should then generate the associated invoice which can be sent to the customer/member and kept for Jiscs records. The process will have various triggers, for example a transaction is started by the customer/member, by the account manager or by the (automated) renewal of a subscription. The system needs to be able to cater for all of these.
