Refuse recycling services. CLC3232 Materials Sorting (MRF) Services. The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF’s) to sort co-mingled dry recyclable materials and sell on the segregated materials for re-processing. We are looking for owners and/or operators with the relevant experience to provide Materials Recovery Facilities to the Borough. This contract will be in two Lots. Lot 1 – Co-mingled dry recyclables collected from households, businesses and bring sites (higher grade material). Taking recyclable materials delivered by Tower Hamlets, sorting through a Materials Recovery facility (MRF), onward sale of segregated material for reprocessing and ensuring items are disposed of in accordance with regulations in force at any given time. Lot 2 – Street Cleansing and Litter Bin Arisings (lower grade material). Taking recyclable materials delivered by Tower Hamlets, sorting through a Materials Recovery facility (MRF), onward sale of segregated material for reprocessing and ensuring items are disposed of in accordance with regulations in force at any given time. Organisations may express an interest in providing one or both lots. The anticipated contract start date 1.2.2012 for an initial period of 3 years with an option to extend for a further 3 year period. The estimated value of the contract is 370 000 GBP per annum. The award criteria for this contract will be published in the Information to Tender documentation. Interested parties will be required to register on the London Tenders Portal, which is free of charge, and must allow sufficient time to register (at least 1 working day).
