Sports-event organisation services. Provision of a venue and facilities for a cross country skiing, biathlon and alpine ski championships for up to 410 athletes and 30 officials. 1. Army organized skiing competition for UK based personnel. 2. Provide a Championship venue in a suitable location that is able to conduct both Alpine and Nordic competitions. The venue must be located on mainland Europe, no more than 1 200 km from Calais, no further than 2 hours from an international airport and have good local train and bus links. Alpine, Cross Country and Biathlon competitions must be within the same locality. Championship dates (inclusive) are: (a) 2013. 13 Jan to 22 Jan 13. (Officials dates, 11 to 23 Jan 13); (b) 2014. 12 Jan to 21 Jan 14. (Officials dates, 10 to 22 Jan 14); (c) 2015. 11 Jan to 20 Jan 15 (TBC). (Officials dates, 9 to 21 Jan 15 TBC). 3. The Alpine competition must be held on suitable courses which conform to Federation International de Ski (FIS) safety standards and must be capable of staging a fully homologated downhill race. Parking, waxing facilities, medical assistance, snow making facilities, timing, toilets, refreshments and emergency mountain rescue must be available. If snow conditions are poor there must be an option to provide a similar service at an alternative suitable venue. 4. The Nordic competition must be held on suitable cross country ski courses that meet FIS and International Biathlon Union (IBU) standards with a dedicated biathlon facility that meets IBU standards for safety and competition. The biathlon competition must have a 30 lane, 50 m, biathlon range, including penalty loop. Parking, waxing facilities, medical assistance, snow making facilities, timing, toilets, refreshments and emergency medical evacuation must be available. If snow conditions are poor Cross Country and Biathlon competitions must have a minimum of a 5 km loop available, if this is not possible there must be an option to provide a similar service at an alternative suitable venue. 5. There will be a requirement to conduct pre-championship planning and provide administrative support throughout. To facilitate this, the following must be provided: A race office with communications and broadband; two separate meeting venues; an indoor prize giving area for 440 personnel and full vehicle access to all accommodation, courses and the biathlon range. Accommodation requirements are: Competitors; self catering apartments for up to 410 personnel. Officials; full board accommodation for up to 30 personnel, alternatively self catering accommodation can be utilised providing there are cooking and dining facilities available to cater centrally. There will be a requirement for the Evaluation Team to visit the site during the Tender Evaluation period.
