Sports-event organisation services. Provision of a venue and facilities for Ex Rucksack. The GBR army and interservice cross country and biathlon ski championships for 200 athletes and 40 officials. Provide a cross country and biathlon championship venue with a biathlon stadium and range, which must be on mainland Europe, in the Alps and no more than 1 200 km from Calais, no further than 2 hours from an international irport and have good local train and bus links. The biathlon stadium must be an International Biathlon Union (IBU) “A” licence facility that hosts world cup and/or world championship biathlon events, on the IBU race calendar. The stadium must have a 30 lane, 50 m, electronic target biathlon range. Waxing, medical, timing, commentary, refreshment & store rooms must be available. If snow conditions are poor, there must be a minimum of a 5 km loop with floodlights, snow cannon and stockpiles of snow; with the ability to maintain the loop to FIS and IBU racing standards. Championship dates are: a. 2013. 23 Jan to 8.2.2013. (Officials arrive 21.1.2013). b. 2014. 22 Jan 14 to 7.2.2014. (Officials arrive 20.1.2014). c. 2015. 21 Jan to 6.2.2015 (TBC). (Officials arrive 19.1.2015 TBC). 2. There will be the requirement to conduct pre-championships planning and provide: a full results service in accordance with the Army Winter Sports Association (AWSA) rule book; competitors self catering accommodation for 200 (2,691 bed nights); officials B&B accommodation (455 bed nights); a world cup championships an IBU “A” Licence race office with communications and broadband; a venue for an outdoor (standing) and indoor (seated) prize giving for 250 personnel; full access to ranges, stadium facilities and loipes; emergency mountain rescue. There will be a requirement for the evaluation team to visit the site during the tender evaluation period.
