Construction of a coastal defence scheme which comprises the construction of a new multi-purpose 20 000 m3 sand filled geotextile bag reef, replacement of the existing timber groynes with 2 new rock groynes and 2 new detached breakwaters, shingle beach nourishment (approximately 75 000 tonnes) and access improvement works. It is anticipated that there will be an element of Early Contractor Involvement in order to inform the final design and improve the buildability and programming of the works.
