Greater Manchester Commissioning Business Service (CBS), on behalf of the Association of Greater Manchester Primary Care Trusts, is conducting an exercise to review the provision of Tier 4 inpatient drug and alcohol detoxification services in Greater Manchester. Amongst other things, this exercise involves trying to understand the market for delivering such services. We would like to hear from existing or potential providers of Tier 4 detoxification who wish to let us know of their interest in providing these services, and invite you to take part in a discussion to help inform our commissioning intentions. Interested providers should be aware that this is an assessment to help us understand the level of market interest in providing NHS detoxification services. Whilst a formal procurement may result at some point following completion of this exercise it cannot be guaranteed, and current or prospective providers should not see this exercise as an indication of an intention to retender services. Responses are welcomed from statutory providers, the independent sector, and the third sector. Providers wishing to participate in this engagement exercise should contact Neil Ratcliffe at CBS (Neil.Ratcliffe@gmcbs.nhs.uk) in the first instance. You will receive a memorandum of information outlining our current position, and will be invited to comment on specific aspects of our commissioning plans as well as make general comments. The closing date for responses is Friday 11.3.2011.
