UCAM 075/16 Continuous Flow Liquid TEM Holder

The University of Cambridge has a state of the art electron microscopy facility, namely the Wolfson Electron Microscopy Suite, dedicated to materials characterization and equipped with a number of FEI transmission electron microscopes (TEMs). TEM research on materials for electro-chemistry applications currently provides structural and compositional analysis of electrode materials studied ‘ex situ’, in a vacuum, with spatial resolutions better than 1 nm. Funding for capital investment to allow the expansion of the existing characterization equipment has been received, and in situ liquid flow TEM has been identified as 1 of main areas of interest, in particular for the quantitative characterization of battery electrodes under realistic working conditions.
