Request for Information: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance System.

Please note: this is not a formal request for applications to tender nor does it form part of any tender process. This is a Market Consultation process only concerning the possible purchase of NMR system. The Instrument Centre is a shared facility of University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. The Instrument Centre maintains NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) and mass spectrometers and provides high quality instrumentation for research and teaching. All instruments are owned together with two universities (50:50). Instrument Centre is now going to update its NMR spectrometers. At the moment, the Instrument Centre has five high-field superconducting magnets: 600, 500, 2 x 400 and 250 MHz, equipped either Bruker or Jeol NMR spectrometers. The aim is to replace some of the magnets and update the spectrometers and probeheads for remaining magnets. In addition, at least 1 new whole NMR instrument (magnet + spectrometer) will be acquired. This instrument should have a minimum of 600 MHz magnet and should be equipped with low temperature cryoprobe. All current instruments can be used to liquid state NMR. One of the instruments is also capable to do solid state NMR (CPMAS) and two instruments have equipped with sample changer. Therefore, Universities are interested to hear about new features of solid state equipment and automation. The probe updates can include also special probes designed for small amount samples. The universities invite any suitably qualified and experienced organization to take part in a market consultation exercise for the updating the present NMR system located in Turku Finland. Concerning the suitability or experience in the field of this consultation shall not be predetermined by any means by the Universities but instead allowing all organizations an open possibility to determine whether they consider them suitable and willing to participate. The objective of this Market Consultation request is to allow a period of interaction with the possible market by seeking all kind of relevant information and feedback from interested parties in relation to an appropriate solution to fulfil the needs of the Universities. The universities are expecting any relevant information in relation to NMR purchase. The market consultation exercise is looking for your expert opinions among other things on the following: — technical information on participator's available solutions (with variations), — the cost or general pricing principles of available solutions, — manufacturing timetable and estimated delivery time, — installation information, — future repair and maintenance principles or proposals, — general delivery terms of participator, — short company presentation. Organizations are asked to attach all relevant brochures or other documents in their notification to participate. The capacity of email address below is anyway 25 MB This market consultation exercise will be conducted in the following manner: 1. Any organization willing to take part in this market consultation should send their informal Request to participate to email procurement@utu.fi, with headline ‘Market consultation for NMR of University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University’. Request should reach email procurement@utu.fi at latest the 6.3.2015. 2. After the 6 th of March Universities shall contact all participators to provide presentation of facilities where NMR solution (updates) are to be acquired and installed, in Turku Finland. Participators are asked to also to inform whether they wish to be invited to presentation which shall be held either the 12 th or 13 th of March (details later informed). 3. All participators are also asked to provide personnel of universities a demo-presentation or an equivalent possibility and to present their solutions at place agreed separately, for ex at factory site. 4. In case of additional information is estimated to be needed participators are asked to send their questions to email address procurement@utu.fi at latest the 24 th of February.
