A national infrastructure for X-ray diffraction and scattering shall be established with laboratories at the University of Oslo (UiO) and at the Norwegian University of Sceince and Technology (NTNU). The infrastructure will act as an advanced centre for X-ray diffraction and scattering with state-of-the-art instrumentation and auxiliary equipment that facilitates non-routine experiments. The infrastructure will be open for all users, including other universities and colleges, research institutes, public organizations and industry. At the University of Oslo, one foresees the procurement of up to 5 instrumentations; i.e. for single-crystal studies; SAXS/WAXS; in-situ studies of powders at non-ambient conditions; studies of thin films and multilayers; and high resolution powder diffraction (routine; including non-ambient conditions).
