Translink operates over 1 100 vehicles (Ulsterbus) covering the Northern Ireland region and approximately 260 vehicles across the Greater Belfast area (Metro). In 2013/14 there were over 40 000 000 passenger journeys on Ulsterbus services and approximately 26 000 000 passenger journeys on Metro services. We have a number of licences for systems that are currently stand alone applications but this often makes it difficult to extract, manipulate and analyse data sets to help make sound business decisions. A business intelligence solution is required to present data in a way that allows the business to monitor performance and make real-time changes to successfully deliver the growth strategy and enhance the service offering to our customers. The proposal is to procure and implement a system that will enable information to be collected from several existing data streams and interrogated rapidly and easily by the end user. Please note — Translink will be seeking to contract with an experienced system integrator capable of covering our requirements. To ensure best use of valuable time for both Translink and interested suppliers, only suppliers who can demonstrate their experience in relevant similar-sized contracts should register at this stage. As this is not a tender exercise — suppliers not invited to give a presentation at this stage will not be excluded from applying for any future related tenders.
