Irish Water is to appoint a Water Quality Survey Specialist to Erect, maintain and then remove a range of instrumentation; whilst undertaking a range of water quality sampling with supporting lab analysis. The survey will be within the Lough Derg and Parteen Basin area (of surface area approx. 140 km 2 ) for an approximate 3 year period. The scope of services of the Water Quality Surveyor may include:- (a) Water flow and current surveys using 3 No. Acoustic Current Profilers; (b) Water level surveys using 8 No. automatic water level recorders; (c) Water quality monitoring using 5 No. moored sampling stations, including automated nutrient analysers (5 No); (d) Fortnightly water quality sampling and lab analysis from 8 locations within the lough; (e) Fortnightly water quality sampling and lab analysis from 6 major inflowing rivers; (f) Fortnightly Water treatability sampling from 5 locations within the lake (12month period only) (g) Water temperature monitoring using 20 No. thermistor chains (4 sensors per chain); (h) Meteorological monitoring using 2 no. meteorological station; (i) Factual and interpretative reporting on the above; and (j) Maintenance and servicing of survey instrumentation/equipment as required to maintain accuracies and 100 % data continuity over the survey period. Applicants should note that due to the urgent need to award the Contract Agreement, Irish Water is using the Accelerated Negotiated procedure.
