This procurement is for replacement with new of the current Gearwheels and Pinions on the Piccadilly Line as part of its life extension programme. The proposed quantities to be replaced with new will range from 0-100 % in line with the known specification for the gearwheels and pinions. Tube Lines reserves the right to up issue the technical specification with amendments prior to submission of bidders best and final offers. Any framework agreement awarded will be on a zero value basis with no obligation for Tube Lines to purchase any minimum number of parts. Based on current known estimates, a total of between 300-500 off Gearwheels and 1100-1300 off Pinions will be required. A framework agreement is sought with a view to replacing the parts between 2013 and 2017 to ensure that the Piccadilly Line fleet life extension programme is achieved. The requirement is to seek bids for the supply of Gearwheels and Motor Pinions in accordance with the Tube Lines Specification, and in quantities ranging from 1-1376 for Gearwheels and Motor Pinions respectively. Tube Lines reserves the right to decide on the final quantities to be called off in accordance with the Framework agreement. The Accelerated Negotiated procedure is being used due to the urgency of the requirement.
