Management of the Replenishment and Storage of Aviation Fuel and the Undertaking of ‘Into Plane’ operations at Birmingham Airport.

The Airport is in the process of acquiring 3 no. aviation fuel tanks, each with a capacity of 85 000 litres, and is seeking to appoint a contractor to manage delivery of aviation fuel by fuel providers authorised by Birmingham Airport into storage tanks, manage the storage of the fuel and manage and operate the into-plane supply service for airline customers of authorised fuel suppliers. The appointment will be for an initial 3 year term with the option to extend for a further 2 year period. It should be noted that over the term of the contract there is potential for additional tanks to be acquired should demand dictate. The Airport will explore a number of options in this procurement exercise including where the appointed contractor / operator has to provide all of the assets necessary for the operation of the contract (including refuelling bowsers) and where the provision of assets are the responsibility of the Airport. A list of the duties expected of the appointed contractor / operator is appended to the pre-qualification questionnaire.
