I14 Internal X-ray Hutches and Shielding (DLSITT0332)

TThe I14 Nanoprobe and Mesoprobe beamline is a long beamline which will consist of two branches with experimental stations situated externally from the main Diamond Building some 180 m from the source. The two branches will share the same Main Optics Hutch OH1, shielded beam transport sections and secondary Optics Hutch/Enclosure OH2 mounted on the main experimental floor. This specification primarily details the shielding required as far as OH2. Further shielding within the synchrotron will be required between OH2 and the concrete beam duct when building enabling works are completed. This shielding will be subject to a future tender that will include the additional shielding works necessary for the duct and the external building.
