Public Procurement for Weather Modification with Cloud Seeding by Airplane

This procurement involves seeding of clouds against hail with reagent-silver iodide (AgJ) from airplane. The cloud seeding hypothesis is based on the concept of useful competition. Competition is a lack of natural ice cores in the cold cloud environment and injection of silver iodide creates a significant number of artificial crystallization cores. Arable and artificial ice crystals are ‘competing’ for the content of cool cloud water in the bearing cloud, and as a result of the method, the grains formed in the sown cloud volume will be smaller in size, causing less damage if they fall to the ground. Artificial cores seeding with silver iodide is carried out by specialized aircraft and seeding procedures depending on the meteorological conditions.
