With its Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, additionally to the ozone depleting substances also the potent greenhouse gases HFC are being regulated. This defines a major contribution to Climate Protection mitigating up to ca 75 GtCO2eq emissions till 2100. Whilst National Management Plans for Ozone Protection continue its implementation, the sector of refrigeration, air conditioning and foam production becomes also highly relevant for mitigation action. The consulting support covers 2 projects on behalf of BMZ, the Federal German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, namely the German Ozone Protection Fund (Ozonfonds) as well as the Proklima policy support project.
