Centralized VDI infrastructure for courses @ EPFL.

Today at the EPFL, a lot of courses in the school are currently given in a traditional way (physical PC dedicated to courses, or students laptops), but we have also some courses that are already running on VDI infrastructures. Needs of quicker and optimized way to provide course environments have arose through the school. Today we have a mix of existing VDI infrastructures that must be refreshed and also new needs. We would like to build a scalable and modular VDI infrastructure that would be able to support a very heterogeneous variety of loads and technological features such as 3D acceleration for Linux and Windows VDI. This infrastructure must at least support the current identified needs in terms of VDI, but also be able to scale vertically and horizontally for the future needs of the entire school courses.
