Network Rail intends to carry out a procurement exercise to establish a framework agreement for the delivery of buildings and civils works across the Southern Region. These works will be undertaken primarily within the Southern Region. However, the framework may also be extended to other parts of the UK Rail Network. The framework is intended to cover the detailed design and construction of buildings and civils projects, including mechanical and engineering (M&E), fabric (canopy and platforms), footbridges, metallic structures, earthworks, and masonry and concrete structures. The procurement exercise will be divided into 7 lots, comprising 1 buildings and civils 'Generalist' lot and 6 'Specialist' lots. Network Rail envisages that the initial duration of the framework will be 3 years with options to extend by five further 1-year extensions (3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1).
