Household waste and recycling centre (HWRC) management and operation.

The council is wishes to contract with a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide HWRC management and operation services. The council operates one Household waste & recycling centre located in the south east part of the city with a through put during 2010-11 in excess of 7 000 tonnes. The service operates seven days a week 52 weeks a year with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day, all other Bank Holidays the site is expected to remain open. The site accepts a wide range of materials for recycling and disposal from the public and various charitable organisations as well as from the Waste collection authority (WCA). Unlike sites operated by Nottinghamshire County Council the Councils site does not operated any form of permit / restriction on residents legitimate use. The contractor will be required to manage the Service and all its associated operations, including the provision of site machinery, transportation of waste, and staffing in order to facilitate the delivery of the Service.
