Control over purchase prices remains with individual NHS trusts. Storage and warehousing services. Transport services \(excl. Waste transport\). This contract notice is part of a wider strategy to deliver commercial advantage for the East Midlands and Yorks & Humber Health Economy's as part of the re:source's and CPC's collaborative procurement strategy. The current supply chain for medical surgical supplies and other consumables is highly fragmented. This adds both cost and waste to the supply chain and acts as a barrier to the implementation of stock management systems. The proposed service model is designed to address this weakness by appointing a neutral wholesaler service for the East Midlands and Yorks & Humber region in 2 lots. The contract notice offers no guarantee of business. The estimated contract value includes the potential value of goods channelled through the service. Bidders will be required to submit proposals as part of the tender process which provide a compelling and credible case back to both East Midlands and Yorks & Humber NHS Trusts and the wider supply base. Tenders will be evaluated by a sourcing group comprising of core East Midlands and Yorks & Humber NHS Trusts including Derby Hospitals Foundation Trust, Nottingham University Hospitals, Northampton General Hospital, United Lincolnshire Hospitals and Kettering General Hospital. The contract period will initially be for 60 months with potential for an extension of 60 months by mutual agreement.
