South Ayrshire Council currently operates 8 golf courses at 5 locations across South Ayrshire and is considering how it may approach the future management and provision of this service in order to maximise efficiencies and income generation. The Council is seeking to engage the market through issue of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) to help identify options available. The Council currently provide a range of services including golf starting services, catering services and PGA Golf Professional services. The PGA Golf Professional services include the operation of a retail golf outlet, the provision of golf coaching services and a club repair/club fitting service. A brief summary of the services currently provided at each location and footfall is as follows; Troon 91,197 Rounds Per Annum Golf Professional Services Catering Services Starting Services Belleisle/Seafield (Ayr) 66,337 Rounds Per Annum Golf Professional Services Catering Services Starting Services Dalmilling 20,481 Rounds Per Annum Golf Professional Services Starting Services The information for Maybole and Girvan is not currently available. The Council is looking to engage the market in order to better understand the options available, to establish the likely level of interest and to identify innovative opportunities in providing this service – on a site by site basis, across a range of sites and/or for one particular element of the service or for any combination of elements. The Council would welcome the opportunity to discuss this service with providers and potential contractors. All interested parties are invited to register their interest in this notice by Wednesday 9th April 2014 with a view to potential supplier engagement April-May 2014. Any information provided will be used to help inform the Councils approach to any future procurement process.
