The Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources requires a consultant geophysicist to: 1. Carry out seismic interpretation, Landmark-based, on a wide range of projects at both regional and prospective level. The work will include picking seismic line; tying line to nearby appropriate wells; preparing time and depth contoured maps; interpretation reports and well depth prognoses and review and audit of licensees’ interpretation reports. 2. Assist in promoting petroleum exploration and production activities in Ireland by engaging directly with senior oil industry personnel in relation to Ireland’s hydrocarbon prospectivity and providing support for applied petroleum research projects sponsored by the Department. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be engaged for 150 days to end 2011 with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of 150 days in each of 1 or 2 further years.
