Northern Ireland Railways (NIR) invites pre-qualification questionnaire responses for the supply and delivery of approximately 2 400 tonnes of steel railway rails. The rails are to be manufactured in accordance with Network Rail’s Standard Ref. No. NR-SP-TRK-061 Issue 2 Pearlitic Rails. The rail profile is to be 56EI (new designation) also known as BR113A (Old Designation). The Grade of steel is to be Grade 260 also known as Grade A Steel. All rails are to be supplied undrilled. NIR requires the rails to be supplied in 60 feet or 18 288 metre lengths. The rails should be delivered by the Supplier to at least 2 locations in the North-western Area of Northern Ireland. The rails will have to be moved from the quayside in Northern Ireland to the delivery locations via roads by the supplier. NIR expects to commence taking delivery of these rails in December 2011 or January 2012. The rails can be delivered in a single or in multiple shipments. NIR expects to receive the final delivery of these rails before 31.3.2012.
