In 2008, the Capital Region of Denmark carried out an EU tendering procedure for ambulance services and non-emergency patient transports. To ensure the best possible competition in connection with a new tendering procedure for ambulance services in autumn 2013, the Capital Region of Denmark will carry out a technical dialogue with current and potential suppliers in the market in order to ensure that the tendering documents are prepared so that they match the opportunities in the market as far as possible. As opposed to the tendering procedure in 2008, it is intended to perform the 2 procedures separately, beginning with the procedure for ambulance services followed by the procedure for patient transportation. The technical dialogue will concern the tendering procedure for ambulance services. The technical dialogue with suppliers in the market will be conducted as described in more detail in point II.8 below. The deadline for requests by companies to participate in the technical dialogue is 22.4.2013. Requests must be submitted as an email to the contact person mentioned in point I.1. The tendering procedure covers both emergency and planned ambulance services in the Capital Region of Denmark, however, it is expected that the procedure will be split into a number of subcontracts covering the estimated activity in geographically defined areas, but the service will not be limited to these areas. The Emergency Dispatch Centre of the Capital Region of Denmark will handle the dispatch. As a general rule, the ambulances must be staffed with an ambulance technician and a paramedic pursuant to Executive Order no. 1150 of 9 December 2011. A specified number of ambulances will be staffed by a ambulance technician and an advanced paramedic .
