The remit of the UK Trade and Investment is to help UK-based companies succeed in the global economy and assist overseas companies in bringing their high-quality investment to the UK. It achieves this through a combination of civil service and private sector expertise. This expertise is deployed in the manner that most effectively and efficiently delivers assistance to our clients. We have determined that this is best achieved through a lean civil servant core strategically directing an organisation with programme management and execution capabilities which can call on a flexible pool of private sector technology, industry, market and business process specialists according to demand and need. The main elements of the contract will be as follows: 1) Recruitment and deployment of specialists to support trade and foreign direct investment objectives. 2) Knowledge and research management. 3) Knowledge transfer. 4) Agility to respond to UKTIs requirements including supporting global operations. 5) Insights into global trade and investment trends and opportunities. 6) Client account management. UKTI is now seeking a Contractor to provide such a service and will shortly be issuing a Contract Notice under the Open Procedure. Services are to commence 1.10.2013 for an initial period of 3.5 years with extension options covering an additional 1.5 years. The full value of the Contract for the initial period is likely to be greater than 80m pounds sterling. UKTI will therefore be looking for organisations to evidence a robust financial position and relevant experience, capability and capacity to manage/supply such a strategically important resource.
