CT scanners. Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a Requirement for a High-End Multislice CT scanner, software and workstations package. This high specification scanner must have the ability to acquire volumetric data with thin slices and cover volumes with temporal uniformity. Millisecond rotation times are required for temporal resolution coupled with noise and artefact algorithms to ensure optimum image quality. Increased low contrast detectability and optimal spatial resolution is desired. The system must have full cardiac capabilities including the ability to image the heart with each 3D volume representing exactly the same phase of the cardiac cycle. The facility to be able to perform myocardial perfusion, coronary artery and functional analysis is preferred. Technology is required that will allow expansion of CT services as required in the future including intracranial angiography, brain perfusion and CT subtraction techniques. Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides services to one of the busiest emergency departments in the Country, it is crucial the system is able to manage multiple consecutive poly-trauma patients and triple rule-out exams. An imaging platform that allows an efficient and smooth work-flow with high quality images is essential.
