SaWCS - Medicines Management and Optimisation Framework.

South and West Commissioning Support Alliance (SaWCS) does not currently provide Medicines Management and Optimisation services to its customers and wishes to have the ability to do so in the future. In order to offer all service lines within the NHS England Lead Provider Framework (LPF) South and West Commissioning Support Alliance (SaWCS) is tendering for suitably qualified and experienced market leaders in this field to support its LPF application and future service provision of expert pharmaceutical support to its customers. Using a procurement route South and West Commissioning Support Alliance (SaWCS) aims to; — appoint a high quality provider or providers with the relevant experience and qualifications to assist South and West Commissioning Support Alliance (SaWCS) in its LPF bid and its future Medicines Management and Optimisation service provision; and — commission a service that will ensure the highest quality of service and Value for Money (VfM). The scope of services requirements include but are not limited to: — engagement with patients and the public to better understand how local services can support patients to get more from their medicines; — supporting an improved experience of medicine taking for patients; — securing greater value for money from customers medicines expenditure; — improving medication safety including a demonstrable reduction in harm from medication errors; — engaging across the system to improve the way that medicines are used and to reduce medication waste (this will engage community pharmacies, care homes, hospital trusts, the pharmaceutical Industry and others); — effective use of a range of data sources to identify efficiencies and quality improvements in the way medicines are used locally; — developing improvement plans on behalf of a customer; — supporting customers to implement new national guidance and recommendations; and — horizon scanning for, and identification of, new products.
