Public-telephone services. Shropshire Council is looking for an organisation to tender for our Fixed Voice telephony provision to cover supply, rental and calls. Currently the estate is a mixture of ISDN30e, ISDN2e, PSTN and SIP connectivity. The desire is to move to provide all Shropshire Council buildings with IP telephony contact system which is provided across existing SIP trunks. We also have other connections which are a mix of those listed above, these are installed into varying locations i.e. schools, libraries, etc. The successful contractor will take over ownership of existing connections and provide back to us a suitable platform on which we can access and submit online orders, accessing and reporting on billing information and fault reporting/monitoring, with direct access to individual bills by our customers to reduce Shropshire Council's input on administration provision. This contract will be to cover our fixed voice telephony for a period of 3 years with an option to extend the contract for a further 2 year period. On the understanding that the estate will be shifting from old technology to newer SIP type connections. It is intended that the contract will commence on the 1.7.2015 or as soon after that date as is possible. Our current network is provided over 18 ISDN2e, 34 ISDN30e, 1126 PSTN and 2 SIP connections all with varying channels. The successful company would assist in reducing this overall rental cost plus call charges and advising on ways in which to do so. As a public authority, in line with the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the Council has due regard to economic, social and environmental well-being in Shropshire. Accordingly the council is looking, in relation to the delivery of this contract, for proposals from contractors that could help provide social value benefits within Shropshire where practicable and to maximise the social and economic impact of the proposed contract.
