Supply, maintenance and consultancy of data centre hardware and software systems.

The University of Salford is a multi-campus university with a user population of approximately 30 000. The core server and storage infrastructure supports all business critical and centrally delivered services for the university. A dual data centre architecture supports resilience of the universitys core services in the event of a single data centre failure. Resilience within a data centre is also built in to the architecture of systems. Information technology services division (ITS) facilitates access to computer systems and IT based services via a sophisticated network infrastructure to support teaching, research and administration. The University of Salford has a requirement for 2 distinct areas of service identified as lot 1 and lot 2. Suppliers are invited to bid for one or both lots on the tender; Lot 1) The supply of compute and storage equipment throughout the contract period (including but not exclusive to blade servers and enterprise san/nas storage) compatible with UoS existing environment.
