Prospective Suppliers are invited to submit proposals for the provision of a full managed facilities service contract MSC for an automated urinalysis system to the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust the Trust. The successful bidder will be expected, where appropriate, to honour existing agreements with suppliers within the terms of the MSC and will be expected to work with third party suppliers to bring into the MSC, if required, further products of the departments choice throughout the length of the contract. It is anticipated that the supplier of the MSC will act as a strategic partner that will be expected to advise, develop and implement new technologies as they arise that are advantageous to the Trust in terms of its goal to modernise and automate the microbiology service. The Trust holds existing Managed Facility Service Contracts for Pathology; Prospective Suppliers may wish to submit proposals as an additional schedule to the existing MSC master agreement or to develop and submit proposals independently. Path Links Microbiology runs a semi-centralised service, with Bacteriological investigations taking place on the Scunthorpe General Hospital and Boston Pilgrim sites and Serological investigations taking place on the Grimsby and Grantham sites. The Urinalysis service is run from the Boston Pilgrim and Scunthorpe General Hospital sites. Currently, there is one analyser in the Boston laboratory and 2 in the Scunthorpe laboratory, it is in these labs where the analysers are to be placed. Service resilience and flexibility are key to the provision of the service as work may have to be moved between sites during times of staff shortage and unexpected analyser downtime. They must have sufficient capacity for the expected workload given and allow for any future workload increase (The workload increases by an annual rate of approximately 2 %).
