Route Scheduling and Optimisation Software — Adult Passenger Services.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich (the Council) and GS+ are seeking to increase their market knowledge of potential designers, manufacturers and suppliers of products and services prior to letting a contract for the purchase of Route Scheduling and Optimisation Software to be used in conjunction with the delivery of adult passenger transport services. The software will determine the most efficient use of buses used to transport up to 500 passengers daily to a variety of destinations across the borough. Passengers have a wide variety of characteristics that also determine the utilisation of the buses and individual route plans to a variety of destinations. It is anticipated that the solution will also, either now or in the future, include interoperability with appropriate office based and remote access systems to manage the solution, as well as on board Sat Nav and PDA communication systems. The term of the contract is expected to be about 5 years and this will include the initial purchase and implementation, training and maintenance agreements. The value of the service is expected to be between 50 GBP - 350 000 GBP over the term of the contract. The Royal Borough would like to hear from designers, manufacturers and suppliers of appropriate products and solutions that are: tried and tested; ready for early adoption; near market ready and would benefit from pilot schemes; or are in development and would benefit from meeting potential buyers to better understand their needs.
