F-S 1 Spare Cable Procurement

The procurement is expected to contain design, manufacturing, testing and delivery of a 2000 meter long Mass Impregnated Non Draining (MIND) cable suitable to be used as the Fenno-Skan 1 HVDC spare cable. The cable shall be suitable for installation as a part of the existing cable, including the existing installed cable and existing spare cable. The scope of supply is expected to contain 4 (four) suitable repair joints as an option. The Fenno-Skan 1 cable is a 400kV NOVA-L 1x1200mm2 Cu HVDC double armored submarine cable with MIND paper insulation. Note that the spare cable suitability for the planned use must be proven. The procurement scope of supply defined in this document is to be considered as preliminary and may be negotiated during the procurement process. For example, changes in the delivery length, testing requirements, possible delivery alternatives and the need and the number of joints may be modified during the negotiations.
