Multi Storey Car Park Lighting Improvements

Swindon Borough Council have management responsibility for the maintaining and running the multi storey carparks within the town centre area. The lighting within these carparks are outdated and costly. LED lighting technology provides significant benefits over the pre-existing installed lighting not just through running costs but also improved lighting quality. Four of the council’s multi storey car parks have been identified as part of this lighting upgrade project The four main multi storey carparks in Swindon are: Brunel North, Brunel West, Whalebridge and Spring Gardens. Combined they consume approx. 1 165 MWh every year and at current prices this costs the council approx. GBP 150 000. This proposal is to replace all the lighting at these carparks for LED alternatives, additionally utilising motion and timing sensors will allow even further savings. This lighting has no software and no requirement to connect to SBC systems.
