Acoustic Surveys of Wind Farms.

Please note this is a Prior Information Notice (PIN). Parties should not respond to this as a call for competition will be published in due course with full information. Wexford County Council proposes to procure acoustic surveys of a number of wind farms in County Wexford by public tender in order to assess their compliance with firstly planning conditions and secondly noise nuisance. The tender process, which will be initiated shortly, will be a two stage process under the restricted procedure. This will involve measuring sound around a number of wind farm sites for a variety of parameters and the compilation of an assessment report from the results of these surveys. An assessment report for each wind farm will assess their compliance regarding noise emissions under the following headings: 1. Compliance with planning conditions on the wind farms being tested; 2. Compliance with the Department of Environment, Community and Local Governments' (Wind Energy Development guidelines 2006); 3. Comment on the sound with regard to World Health Organisation standards; 4. Comment on the likelihood of noise nuisance.
