With this request for information, HUS launches a market consultation to prepare a procurement. The aim of this prior information notice is to find suppliers operating in this field of business, get information of the solutions available in the market, and inform our plans and requirements for the forthcoming procurement. SUBJECT OF PROCUREMENT The subject of the procurement is radioactive seeds for localizing breast cancer. The seeds are used for marking breast cancer lesions and lymph nodes to assist the surgeon in locating them during surgery. We are interested in learning about products currently available on the market with a radioactive activity level of 0.1–0.2 mCi. The respondents are asked to provide information on the following questions: - What is the activity level per seed? - What are the sizes and any other relevant properties of the needles used for seed implantation? - Are the seeds pre-loaded into a needle, or are the needles supplied separately? - How are the seeds packed (individually/strands)? - What is the estimated delivery time (starting from the next business day after order has been placed)? - Are the seed containers recyclable, or do they remain with the customer after use? - Any other relevant information regarding the procurement. RESPONSES TO THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION The response to this request for information should include description to the above questions. Within their answer respondents may also attach any brochures available of the products/services. INFORMATION FOR THE PROCEDURE This notice is not a call for tenders. HUS may specify the subject of the procurement in a subsequent contract notice. The requirements for a subsequent procurement and invitation to tender will be determined on the basis of the needs of the contracting entity, with the aim of taking into account the information obtained in the market survey. This notice provides the information currently held by the contracting entity on the procurement to operators on the market. The procurement is in the planning stage and the plans, with their schedules and information, can still be specified and changed. The request for information does not oblige the procurement unit to carry out the actual procurement, but the decision to initiate a possible procurement process is made separately. Neither the request for information nor its replies are binding on either party. Responding to a request for information does not affect the position of the tenderer in the forthcoming tender. The costs associated with responding to a request for information are borne by the respondent, and HUS does not pay compensation for responding to a request for information or participating the procurement procedure.
