Contract description: The purpose of the contract is the construction of the Maximum Security State Prison BiH in accordance with European prison rules. The construction of such a maximum security institution represents a significant advancement in the BiH judiciary system. It will be helpful in dealing with the problem of overcrowding in the present entity penal institutions and provide up to date European standards for the physical and psychological environments for the inmates as well as for the employees who will work in the new prison. The State Prison will be for adults; untried prisoners remanded into custody or sentenced prisoners. The full capacity of the State Prison will be 350 prisoners. The State Prison is situated in the Istočna Ilidža Municipality, app. 11 km from Sarajevo. It is estimated that the State Prison facilities will cover a floor area of app. 26.000 m 2 . The establishment will be a low energy structure, having complex security systems. The foreseen construction period will be app. 20 months. 8. Budget: n/a 9.
