This notice does not constitute a call for competition to procure any services for Defra and other UK public bodies. The procurement of any services will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The purpose of this PIN is to invite interested parties to take part in preliminary market consultations and to improve our knowledge of the market. Defra, in collaboration with other UK Government bodies, is seeking a commercial partner to work on the assembly and packaging of an oral badger vaccine bait intended for use as part of bovine TB control measures. The vaccine strain is commercially produced BCG and a prototype presentation has been developed which now requires scale up and optimisation to establish the finished product. The objective is to develop and validate the process methodology to assemble and package vaccine baits, and to package non-vaccine pre-baits, to GMP standards initially for use in Animal Test Certificate field trials; contribute data for a UK National Marketing Authorisation application; and if approved match production to meet demand of UK and possibly other EU countries. This is a notice that a supplier information day will be held in London on 1 July 2015. The event is expected to take place at Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London; however, if interested numbers exceed expectation, another venue in London will be utilised.
