Multi Storey Car Park Refurbishment.

Following a competitive tender process, Blackpool Borough Council has appointed Muse Developments as its development partner in respect of a project comprising the alternation, repair and refurbishment of a existing 5 storey (ground level plus 4 upper floors) multi-storey car park in Blackpool. Accordingly, Blackpool Borough Council and Muse Developments have entered into a development agreement to reflect this arrangement. Under the development agreement, Muse Developments has agreed to procure a building contractor to carry out building works under a licence from Blackpool Borough Council. The construction contract for the building works (being the contract to which this Contract Notice relates) will be entered into by Muse Developments and the successful tenderer. The car park is to deliver approximately 658 spaces upon completion of the works. The car park’s main vehicle and pedestrian entrances are currently on Deansgate, there is also pedestrian access from Talbot Road. During the 1960’s the car park was extended from its original plan by means of a reinforced concrete extension, spanning over the service yard and access road to the adjacent Prudential House office and retain building. The construction of the extension is substantially different from that of the original car park. The works to the car park form part of a larger regeneration project. The form of Construction Contract is proposed as single stage Design and Build with novated design consultants, based on the Muse Developments Form of Building Agreement.
