EVB2 magnets.

The manufacture, testing and delivery to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory - RAL - of 2 off EVB2 magnets. The extracted proton beam vertical bending magnet (EVB2) forms part of the extracted proton beam line at the ISIS neutron source at RAL. The magnet is of a known design already in use and the new magnets are a direct replacement. No design work is required and a full set of drawings will be issued. The magnet consists of two coils, each comprising six pancakes. Each pancake has 2 parallel conductors within 14 turns per pancake. The coils are mounted in a steel yoke. The coils are water cooled and fitted with monitoring devices to detect excessive temperature rise. The nominal magnet rating is 1904 amps DC 50V fully floating and insulated for 2kV to earth. The approximate weight of the magnet assembly is 13 000 kg.
