Vector network analyzer based millimeter-wave and submillimeter-wave measurement system.

At the School of Electrical Engineering and the School of Information and Communication Technology at KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, research groups are working in the field of microwave engineering and photonics. The content of this invitation to tender is an upgrade of the KTH microwave measurement capabilities. The activities of the main users of these tools are primarily focussing on wave guide, on-wafer and on chip-scale measurements of RF, microwave ad THz MEMS (microelectromechanical systems): passive transmission line and wave guide embedded components, such as switches, phase-shifters, tuneable filters, etc., from 140 GHz to 500 GHz . antenna radiation patterns and transmission paths from 220 to 550 GHz In general, the devices to be measured are interfaced by wither directed by wave guides to the designated bands (140-220 GHz, 220-325 GHz, 325-500 GHz) or by wave guide-based coplanar probes for on-chip/on-wafer measurements for these bands. The measurement equipment will mainly be operated by graduate students, post-docs and by senior researchers, and by other users under supervision. The equipment will be stationary placed in university research laboratories, at a dedicated probe station.
