Southsea Coastal Defence Scheme — Construction Contractor

Portsmouth City Council the “Council” in collaboration with the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership (ESCP), is seeking to appoint a major coastal defence contractor to deliver a significant programme of works to provide new improved flood defences at Southsea seafront. The Council estimates that delivery of the scheme in its entirety may cost in the region of 95 000 000 GBP — 110 000 000 GBP. Whilst the Council cannot commit to a firm programme at this point a target date for start on site is March 2020. The Scheme divides Southsea frontage into 6 frontages which will be built in phases. Based upon the scheme envisaged within the planning application the Council forecasts that construction across all 6 frontages may take approximately 8 years to complete. The Council is targeting to have secured the successful partner contractor by 6.9.2019. Application is via completion of a Supplier Status Questionnaire (SSQ) and associated documentation which must be submitted by 24.5.2019 (14:00).
