Ice rink construction work. The Council's objectives are to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced supplier with relevant experience able to demonstrate sufficient capacity and skill for the installation, commissioning and decommissioning of an outdoor temporary real ice rink and associated infrastructure to be provided in Huddersfield Town Centre during the winter period 2011-12 and if requested by the Council for the winter periods 2012-13 and 2013-14. The successful organisation must be able to supply and oversee all aspects of the build and de-rig including substructure, walkways, marquee(s), ice-mat, barrier systems, sound, lighting, all associated pipework & electrical fittings; build and commission the ice; provide all relevant handover training for operation of the facility by the Council. The Council requires minimisation of environmental impact of the ice rink without compromising quality of operation. The successful organisation must be capable of providing 24-hour technical support and complete and remedial or maintenance works (excluding general housekeeping and daily ice maintenance).
