The provider shall work with the City Council to establish and maintain a service providing information to aid family decisions relating to childcare. Such information is to provided to parents and prospective parents with prescribed details on the provision of childcare and on other services or facilities, or publications, that may benefit them or children or young people. The details of the information which must be provided in respect of childcare, must offer advice and assistance to help parents find childcare that meets their particular needs. The provider shall deliver the service in line with The Childcare Act 2006: section 12 duty to provide information, advice and assistance. The provider shall deliver a service to parents/carers as defined in the act that: — Provides comprehensive information on local services and support to parents that can be accessed easily, from a range of settings used by parents and in different media and formats, — Reaches out to disadvantaged families to overcome barriers to access, — Present parents with choices on how and when they access local information, — Enable all parents to exercise choice and to become informed consumers of services to support them and their children.
